SALBA SMART - Our Company

Salba Smart Natural Products, LLC, was formed in early 2006 by natural food industry veterans and growers in South America.  Salba Smart's mission is to develop and market innovative organic and all natural food products rich in Omega-3 essential fatty acids and nutrients that combine great taste and nutrition clinically proven to improve health. 

Salba Smart™ branded items will be set apart in the natural food category since every Omega-3 enriched Salba Smart™ product contains Salvia hispanica L. – Salba® grain.  Research scientists at the University of Toronto have found Salba® to be among the world’s most nutritious foods.  Ounce for ounce Salba® grain provides three times more iron than spinach, 15 times more magnesium than broccoli, and six times more calcium than whole milk.  Salba® grain is the only food, including grains, vegetables and fruits that are part of each of the six groups of the USDA Food Guide Pyramid.  Grown in the pristine and fertile Amazon basin of Peru Salba® grain has been found to be high in Omega-3 essential fatty acids, antioxidants, fiber, protein, calcium and iron.   A University of Toronto research scientist noted Salba® grain “could be considered the world’s most nutritious food crop.”
